All PayPal transactions take place in a secure web environment. This process takes only a matter of minutes and is available 24 hours a day. We will email you the invoice to allow you to make the payment and then simply follow the instructions.
Deposit
After reviewing your research requirements with you, we will carry out preliminary searches to ensure that there are family records available for you. There is no charge for this. Only when this has been confirmed will we ask for a deposit payment to be made and then the journey will begin…
Instalments
The deposit to commence the research is half of the package price with the balance being payable anytime prior to dispatch. If you prefer to pay this over multiple payments then this is quite acceptable.
All documentation remains the property of Links Genealogy until the final payment is made.
Balance Payment
Upon completion of your research you will be advised that the documentation is ready for dispatch. Subject to payment having been made in full the documentation will be forwarded to you via recorded or special delivery direct to your chosen address.
Postage
All package prices include recorded delivery UK postage. Prices for other destinations can be made available upon demand.
Please note:
On rare occasions it is not possible to trace a surname line back as far as our package indicates. Should this be the case you will be contacted by e-mail and offered the choice of either having another line researched, or paying a reduced charge.
We will of course carry out the aforementioned preliminary searches first to ensure that we can at least start the journey before accepting any payment from you. Should we still come to a halt in our genealogy research due to there being no available records or we are unable to locate them, then you have the peace of mind that we will either research another line of your family or make a pro rata payment refund/adjustment in price to you. In any instance a minimum charge of £50 for research time along with the cost price of any documents purchased will be deducted from any deposit paid.
Contract Termination
If the customer wishes to terminate the research contract, they must inform Links Genealogy by email or by telephone. Links Genealogy will calculate the amount of work carried out prior to cancellation, and will bill the customer at a rate of £15 per hour, up to the package price ordered. All research work carried out will remain the property of Links Genealogy until payment is received, when the work will be passed to the customer.
